Join the London Repair Voucher Program Trial
Starting in April
To find out whether reducing costs helps to boost demand for repair services in London, a voucher scheme is being trialled for household electricals across North London from April to September 2025. This project which has been featured in The Guardian and by BBC, is funded by the North London Waste Authority and is being delivered in partnership by The Restart Project, ReLondon and FixFirst.
Overview
Time for repairers to join!
The trial will run from 1st April 2025 to 30th September 2025. During this time:
Customers will download a voucher from the Repair Week website from 1st April.
Customers will see a map of participating businesses, visit these and optionally send an online request and, during payment, apply the voucher to get 50% off the cost of the repair (up to £50).
The repair business will then claim back the discounted cost via FixFirst’s online platform within 30 days of the repair.
Payment will be received by the business within 2 weeks.
We expect businesses participating in the scheme to see increased demand for their services. Find out how you can benefit from taking part in the trial here, and read some frequently asked questions about the scheme below.
We are now recruiting repair businesses which offer repair of small electricals in North London to take part in the scheme.
To get involved, please answer the questions in this form, which relate to eligibility, services and capacity. We will also require you to upload a copy of your business registration number. We estimate that this should take around 10 minutes. Are you ready?

The big picture
Changing repair in the UK
The North London Repair Voucher Scheme is being trialled from April to September 2025. This project is funded by the North London Waste Authority and is being delivered in partnership by The Restart Project, ReLondon and FixFirst, who manages the voucher platform, fix1.today.
Repair is an effective way to reduce waste and minimise environmental impacts associated with purchasing new items. Almost half of the electricals sent for recycling could be repaired or reused, however cost has been identified as a key barrier for residents.
This trial is looking to assess whether lowering costs for citizens helps to drive demand for local repair services, as has been the case in other cities such as Austria where businesses saw an 80% increase in demand for repair services during the repair voucher scheme, and which remained at a 54% increase even after the scheme ended.
We hope to show the same in London to make a case for the UK.
